Practice Tues 09 Jan 5:30pm
We will go over the above plus:

Wed 10 Jan: Anniversary of the Elevation of the Minor Basilica
  • 6:30am: Propers and Hymn after Communion [SHEET]
  • 6pm: This will be a bit different. All choirs have been invited to join together. There will be no separate practice because most of the music will be out of the red Worship hymnal. Here is the probable line-up, which may change:
    • Entrance: O God Beyond All Praising (Worship 627)
    • Introit (as at 6:30am above, extended with verses on the back of the sheet)
    • Kyrie (follow the priest, probably the simple one)
    • Gloria: Andrews (Worship 320)
    • Responsorial Psalm (TBD)
    • Alleluia (TBD)
    • Offertory Hymn: Holy God, We Praise Thy Name (Worship 614)
    • Sanctus (follow the priest, probably the simple one)
    • Our Father (follow the priest)
    • Agnus Dei (follow the priest, probably the simple one)
    • Communio (as at 6:30am)
    • Instrumental
    • Hymn after Communion: One Bread, One Body (Worship 931) or The Church's One Foundation (Worship 736)
    • Recessional Hymn: Immaculate Mary (Worship 893)
  • The 6pm Mass will be followed by a Parish Supper provided by the Traditional Latin Mass Community and the St. Vincent De Paul Society

Line-up for SUN 07 JAN: SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY/HOLY FAMILY (and Mon 08 Jan: Prompt Succor)

Well, this has been a week. I cancelled practice Tuesday because the cold and flu season hit me like a brickbat. I'm slowly getting better, but I've decided not to try for an alternate practice this week. Here's a simplified...

Line-up for the Feast of the Holy Family.
We're going minimalist on this. With no practice, we'll default back to just the psalm-toned Mass Parts and the Propers. If we venture a hymn, I'm thinking O Sanctissima from the red Worship hymnal.

Mass Setting for Advent-Epiphanytide: Mass XII Pater Cuncta
Monday is a feast day that is distinct to Louisiana, at least as a solemnity, Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Here's a link to the sheet for 6:30am Mass -- [GDOC]

Wednesday, 10 January, is the eighth anniversary of the dedication of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Besides, 6:30am, there is also a 6pm Mass. Even though we have backed off on typically pulling double-duty on such feast days, this one is special. For us, it will be a normal Basilican Feast Day in the morning; in the evening, Fr. Blake has requested participation from all of the choirs but a fairly simple hymn line-up. I'll let you all know more details during our practice on Tuesday, 09 January. Remember, there's also a Parish Supper after this Mass.
